Who knew it was this easy? So you've decided to make a homemade hockey net - great! It's a simple, fun project that the whole family can enjoy. First you need to decide on what size you'd like the net to be, then make sure that you have all of the appropriate materials. Please keep in mind that this hockey net in particular is most appropriate for street or field hockey, and for younger children. This hockey net is not intended for use with regulation rubber hockey pucks, but for use with lighter weight pucks or balls. What you'll need to make your own hockey net:

Preparation:
First, you'll want to use the saw to cut one of the PVC pipes into two 51-inch pieces. (Don't worry, you're supposed have that 18 inches of scrap left over.) Second, cut the other pipe into two 40-inch pieces, and two 20-inch pieces. That's it, the toughest part of making your hockey net is over!
Assembly:
To assemble the hockey net, you'll just need to know which pieces go where. The 40-inch pieces serve as the goal posts, and will be the only two upright pieces. The 20-inch pieces will be the supports connected to the goal posts by elbow connectors: they'll be flat on the ground, and will form L-shapes with the goal posts. Finally, the two biggest pieces, the 51-inchers, will connect the two L-shaped pieces together. One will be in the rear of the goal on the ground, and will connect the two bottom tips of the pieces. The other will be at the top tip of the pieces, and will serve as a cross bar for the goal. As you piece the hockey goal together with the elbow connectors, you'll want to remember to slip the hockey net on as you go!
Have fun!
Remember, this is just a generic how-to on making your own hockey net. You can change the size of the goal by simply changing the size and length of the PVC pipe and net. Also, it can be fun to paint the PVC pipe to personalize your hockey net in your favorite team colors! However you decide to do it, you're sure to get lots of fun and enjoyment from your new, homemade hockey net.
